Santorini, Greece

Santorini is the most picturesque place I have and probobly will ever see. Towns cascade down the mountain side to the Aegean Sea where you will see some of the most incredible water! The one thing I noticed while traveling through the island is that the double-barrelled cross vault it used everywhere there! From the structure of a church, to even the smallest of details such as mailboxes and bird feeders, you can see these vaults all over the island.

Our last day there we hiked up to the top of the Ancient town of Thera circa 3000 BC! It is the oldest structures I have ever seen. It sits on one of the highest points on the island and the cliff it sits ontop of juts out into the Aegean. Amazing views of the island and the sea surrounded by other Greek islands can be seen from the top of Ancient Thera. A lot of interesting things can be seen up there. The entire cities footprint is very clear and you can walk through the streets of what used to be there ancient city and look into these structures. It was easy to put yourself back in time and feel like you are looking through the city. Ontop of the cliff, you can also find the remains of an amphitheatre, stoa, temples to various gods, a gymnasium, and tons of residential homes
